Split PDF

Sometimes you only need pages 2–4 of a statement or a single form from a long packet. This split tool extracts the pages you specify into a new PDF without uploading the original.

Examples: 1-3 · 2 · 1,3,5-7

When to use this

  • Sending only the relevant pages from a multi-page PDF
  • Extracting a W-2 or summary page from a tax packet
  • Removing blank or duplicate pages before sharing

Range syntax

For a 10-page file, `1-3` keeps the first three pages. `1,3,5-7` keeps pages 1, 3, 5, 6, and 7 in that order.

Common mistakes

  • Using 0-based page numbers (this tool uses human page numbers starting at 1)
  • Extracting pages that still contain data you meant to redact
  • Expecting OCR text layers to be edited—this copies pages as-is

How it works

We parse your range into page indexes, copy those pages into a new PDF document, and download split.pdf. Everything runs locally.

How to use

  1. Upload a PDF.
  2. Enter pages to keep (examples: 2 · 1-3 · 1,3,5-7).
  3. Download the new file.

FAQ

Can I extract non-contiguous pages?

Yes. Use commas and ranges, for example 1,3,5-7.

Does splitting reduce file size a lot?

It removes pages you don’t keep. Embedded fonts/images on remaining pages still affect size.

Is the original file changed?

No. You download a new PDF; the original on disk is untouched.

Are files uploaded?

No—processing is local in your browser.
