Resizing scales the whole photo. Cropping cuts a box. Use this when you need a square avatar, a 1200×630 social card, or to drop extra background before you resize.

When to use this

  • Making a square profile photo
  • Cutting a subject out of extra background
  • Preparing a specific pixel crop for a listing

Square avatar

Drop a photo. The tool starts with a centered square. Adjust left, top, width, and height in pixels, then download JPG.

Common mistakes

  • Setting a crop box that extends past the image edges
  • Cropping after you already shrank the file too far—crop first, then resize

How it works

The selected pixel rectangle is copied onto a canvas and saved as JPEG. Processing stays in your browser.

How to use

  1. Drop an image.
  2. Set left, top, width, and height in pixels.
  3. Download the cropped JPG.
