Re-encoded locally — location and camera tags are not copied
Drawing the photo onto a canvas and saving it again drops EXIF, GPS, and most other embedded tags. Pixel data is unchanged except for normal JPG recompression.
When to use this
- Posting a photo without broadcasting the location it was taken
- Sending a screenshot or scan that might include extra metadata
- Preparing images for a public listing

Drop the original, choose JPG, download the cleaned file, and upload that copy—not the camera original.
